Comment:   A common and widespread antlion that occurs over most of southern and eastern Africa. Also Indian Ocean islands – Mauritius and Madagascar. Its pits are the most frequently encountered of al l Myrmeleon species and occur in a variety of situations – even city pavements where there are sand pockets. The larvae are characterized by lack of spotting on the legs and a relatively small head
