Notes:   Here's the mother leopard at 07h46 in the morning heading back towards our house where she had left her cubs. At this point she is roughly 0,75 km north-west of the house, and may cover considerable distances in these night-time forays. So that is the last of the leopard pics - I know that in total it is only three leopards, but I felt that we had been given a unique opportunity to learn something of these beautiful cats. I have tried to pass this information on to you in the hope that it may be useful. Note that on other occasions she would take the youngsters away for long periods, sometimes crossing to the far side of the Sand River, but sooner or later they would all pitch up at the house again. She was also curious - on one occasion she came into the carport behind the house where the back door is, and sniffed and generally checked out things like a trailer, a washing machine and so on. The family ignored the electric fence which theoretically protected the house. It was only switched on after we arrived. We saw them get a couple of shocks, figure out what to do, and then simply come through it as if it wasn't there. Quite remarkable.
