Comments by the Expert Panel on this record:

Comment number:   1
By:   Colin Summersgill
Comment:   Never sure of nightjars without seeing wing and tail patterns, but I think this is a Square-tailed Nightjar (Caprimulgus fossii)
Date:   2014-07-22 07:41:06
Species name:
Species code:   0
Comment number:   2
By:   Lisl van Deventer
Comment:   Grey colour points towards both European Nightjar and Rufous-cheeked Nightjar. Neck appears to be grey, so could well be European nightjar. Difficult to confirm without description of wing and tail pattern
