Notes:   The green turaco in the St Lucia area is usually Livingstone's Turaco Tauraco livingstonii. St Lucia is a little further north than the usual limit for Knysna Turaco. However, the white edging on the crest suggests that this bird is indeed a Knysna Turaco.

Comment:   Both spp have white edging, but this bird's crest is pointed rather than rounded. It unfortunately is backlit giving it a more rounded appearance, but if you look closely at the tip you can see that it does actually come to a point (against the brighter light), rather than rounding. As a matter of interest, the closest to this that Knysna Turaco is known to occur is Eshowe.
