This species is currently the sole representative of the monotypic (single species) genus Maula. There is also an undescribed species that is endemic to the eastern cape coastal belt. M. stigmatus is fairly widespread in Africa from DRC, Zimbabwe to SA. it is not common in collections. Larvae are currently unknown. |
